What I Want to Continue to Work on:
I believe I could improve my performance. Learning never stops! If there was a Fundamentals of Speech Communication 2, I would definitely take the course. I can say I learned a lot in this course and that I would like to take the opportunity to take Speech courses to the next level (If you know what I mean). This Speech course taught me to be open-minded, confident, open and most importantly have fun! |
Favorite Speech:
My personal favorite speech was my Demonstration Speech. I did not get nervous when speaking because I really like what I do on my leisure time which is making protein shakes. Demonstrating how to make my kind of protein shake was interesting because was able to do it hands-on. I brought all my ingredients and blender up on stage (hehe) and it was fun teaching! I also gave the audience a taste of my kind of protein shake. How did it taste? Let me know. I might make my own little business ;) Note: I deeply apologize for the blurriness of the video......... (I had no one to record me so the auto-focus was way off)
Self-Reflection:
I honestly think I’ve overcame my fear in public speaking. I was more confident after my Demonstration Speech and the Monologue Speech (memorized skit). I worried less on my last Impromptu Speech compared to my first Impromptu Speech; I looked at my notes less and gave more eye contact with the audience which was honestly a huge improvement to me. I can say that my tone and volume stayed the same which is a good thing because I do not have a problem with it. The only thing I think I need to improve on is my hand gestures, I feel that I overdo my hand gestures (hehe). I’ve learned that when speaking in public, I just need to be myself; be open, be transparent. I still do get nervous, but I learned to calm and remind myself that I will do great. Thank you for a great semester, everyone! :)
