Introduce Yourself Video

Video Reflection
In my introduce yourself video, I realized that I was talking in a somewhat monotone voice. And it kind of sounded like I was scared to talk or it looked like I was afraid to talk. I get really nervous when it comes to public speaking especially when i’m not prepared. I often stutter and ramble on about something off topic or something inappropriate. So before i even settled on this video, I had to do a lot of takes, about ten or more to make a complete 2 minute video. I stuttered and made a lot of long pauses in most of my takes and looked away a lot and avoided looking straight at the camera. So my goal for this class is to gain more confidence and manage my consistency in presenting. I'm really hoping that this class will help me think quickly and let my thoughts flow fluidly.

Overall Class Reflection:
I was honestly really terrified at the beginning of the class, i didn't think i'd do good because i was never any good in speaking up in class. I was always unsure of my answers and every time i knew that i was right, id just have this idea that everyone already knew that. And in most debates, i usually stuttered and lose my train of thought. So i was really hoping on getting over that problem, and i think that over the course of this semester my ability to speak in front of the class definitely improved. It allowed me to break through my insecurities and fear of saying the wrong thing when really there's nothing wrong with speaking your mind. I've gained a better understanding on how a speech or just any presentation should be done. The time we spent listening and evaluating each other gave me a better perspective on what to do and what not to do. |
