My Introduction SpeechThe pros and cons on how I deliver a simple speech are seen throughout this video. It took me several tries in order to create a video where I did not have a mental block or I stuttered. The cons in my introductory speech are that I did not give eye contact throughout the duration of the video and I say “um” quite often. I admit I nearly spaced out in this video, but I tried my very best to think of anything to say about myself. Another con that I realize about my speech is that I didn't use complete sentences when I should have. Looking at the brighter side of this video, I gain some self-confidence because I didn’t know I could do it. As easy as it sounds, least I thought it was easy at first, turns out it wasn’t. As I’ve mentioned in the beginning, it took me several tries until I have completed a two-minute video introducing myself. I was proud of myself that I was able to introduce myself with the best I could for now. A flaw that I would like to overcome or change is stuttering. I stutter when I get really nervous or when I have to publicly speak in front of people. Hopefully after taking this class, I will be able to confidently read out loud in class without stuttering and even give a speech to the public.

ReflectionThroughout the course, I personally thought that I was not far from where I started. I started out as very shy woman who stutters even if I were to just read out loud in class. But now, I can confidently say I have slightly overcome that. Although I may still stutter from time to time, I have built more self confidence within myself. So is my skills in communicating and learning ways into getting peoples attention. Assignments such as impromptu speech, demonstration speech, and my favourite, This I Believe speech was one of the many assignments that got me to where I am now, a more confident woman. Of course, I would still have to improve beyond and out of this course, but this course indeed help me create a sturdy base into becoming more confident within myself. Thank you Ms. Bunts-Anderson for such a brilliant instructor. :-)
