Out of all the speeches we've done, I'd say the demonstration is my favorite. I put a lot of myself into such a silly topic, and I was able to give the speech feeling relaxed and sure of myself.
I would rate myself a 7/10 when it comes to achieving my goals. My first goal was to learn how to pace myself when speaking. I think I've gotten better at pacing, but halfway through I notice I'll speed up. My second goal was to learn how to tackle nervousness. I don't think I could ever change the way I feel about speaking publicly, but I know after hours of practice I feel more sure of myself.
The best way I can continue to develop is to stop over thinking. It's something I find myself doing with everything I do. I've recently applied for two jobs. If I get hired, for someone who is very anti-social, that's one heck of a way for me to develop my speech skills. As long as I'm going to school though, I think there's no way I can not continue developing.
