Goals for CO210 |
After watching my introduction video, in my opinion, it was alright. However, there are some improvements I can make. I need to keep my expressions and tone of voice consistent. I noticed how I started the video without enthusiasm, and suddenly I did in the middle of the video. I also could've made the video a bit longer to critique further. While filming, it took me several attempts to get the right video. If I practiced more on what I wanted to say, I wouldn't have struggled during the process. The reason for this is because when we present our speeches, we only get one chance to present!

Like what I mentioned in my introduction video, I hope by taking this speech course, it'll improve my communication skills. I get nervous speaking in front of a large group of people due to the fear of making any mistakes. Also, I'd like to improve on my voice-projection. I often get comments on how I need to speak louder when I present because I'm very soft-spoken.

Favortie Speech: "She Died"
|
My favorite speech of this class was a the skit/ memorized speech. My group and I performed a skit called "She Died!" and it was inspired by the skit "1922 Very Very Cold Feet" by Don Zolidis. This was my favorite speech because it's different from the speeches we usually do. I also had a great time filming with my group!

Goals I Achieved & Goals to Work On
At the beginning of the semester, one of my goals was to improve my communication skills. I'd say that my speaking skills when presenting a speech has improved quite a bit, particularly my voice-projection. When we presented our speeches, I reminded myself to speak loud and clear so that people could hear what I am saying. Other than that, a goal that I need to work on is my fear of presenting. Taking this class during this time reduced my stage fright because classes were virtual, or we shared a video of our speeches. I think if I were to present face-to-face, I'd be very nervous. Even if this is normal to experience, I'd want to work on this to improve my presentations.
