Fundamentals of Speech
CO 210: Introduction Assignment
|
Goals: My goal for this class is to finally be able to build that courage to speak confidently in front of the public. I want to be able to go through every speeches smoothly without fidgeting, stuttering, or getting my words jumbled up.
Reflection: Although there weren't any students in front of me, I was somehow nervous. Throughout my speech, I was so keen on finishing it quickly, I think that's because I was nervous. I don't know why and how. But I am glad that I was able to do this introductory video. |

Reflection
Speech class has been a great help to me. It taught me not only about the tips on how to be a great speaker but it has also helped boost my confidence in speaking. When I first started, I was terrified of speaking in front of the class mainly because I was afraid to make mistakes. I was afraid of what others may think of me but I realized that instead of focusing on that matter, I should just focus on what I'm trying to convey to my audience. I have learned to "fake it till I become it". Nervousness has been my number one downfall and I am sure everyone has encountered this somehow. However, I have learned to fake confidence just as what my teacher and a Ted Talk speaker mentioned. "Don't just fake it till you make it. Fake it till you become it." I am beyond grateful that I have been a part of such an amazing classmates and instructor. I have truly learned so much in this course along side with my peers.
