Self -Evaluation
While watching my video, I noticed that my eyeglasses were kind of on the way and that eliminate any eye contact. I also noticed that when I get so nervous I talked really fast and sometimes I just make up words. I really need to work with my diction. I do not get really nervous when I talk in public because when I was young I used to join the National Junior Forensic League and that kind of helped me a lot in public speaking but my only insecurity is pronouncing the words right. One of my biggest insecurity is my accent because sometimes I pronounce words different and some people makes fun of it and it hurts my feelings sometimes but I just keep it to myself. I was often told by people that I need to open my mouth more when I speak so they can clearly hear or understand what I am saying. Sometimes it gets so frustrating that I just keep my mouth shut and let other people talk. For this class, I want to improve my public speaking, pronunciation, posture, and boosts my confidence. I want people to hear what I have to say without them making fun of me. FINAL REFLECTION:
Through the course, I personally believe that my diction and words of pronunciation had improve. I really like how we do the alphabet and vowels sounds before we do our speech. Also, with the help of Power Posting, I feel more confident and ready to deliver my speech without getting nervous. I was never really good with giving impromptu because it is not my thing but now after doing multiple impromptus in class, I actually like it. I really enjoyed the Debate that we had in class because I'm that type of person who likes to argue specially if I know that i'm right. Overall, this course helped me to open up to people and express myself in away that I don't feel shy or a shame. Thank you so much Ms. Bunts and keep up the good work! :->. |
