30 Day Challenge Speech
Initially, I was only invited to hangout and join this group for their 30 day challenge. We had our first beach day on March 1st. For some reason, they wanted to add me into their group, yet I am really grateful for this. This group had a different goal set than my original goal that was set before I was asked to join this group, which was adventure and fitness. On March 6, our group decided to cruise around the northern part of the island. Bird island, Banzai cliff, and Grotto are some of the places we visited. While at Grotto, Rayanna, Selima, and Destini went down to swim while the rest of us hung out at a nearby pavilion. After exploring the northern side of the island, we headed down to the sugar dock, also known as “Bantalon”, to eat a nice meal after a long day. The next day, Selima, Rayanna, Destini, and I had a swim test for 500 Sails. We swam 400 meters and we helped set up a sailboat. Destini and I were in such a rush at the beginning of the test and Selima and Rayanna were slow and steady. Selima and Rayanna finished first while Destini and I were struggling to get back to shore. Like the story of the tortoise and the hare, we the tortoise and they were the hare. Then, we headed down to Kagman to meet up with Debra. We walked around Lao Lao bay for almost three hours. I honestly liked that we took our time walking, enjoying nature, and not being on our devices. I missed my kickboxing because I dropped everyone. However, I think I had enough exercise for that day.. On March 8, I returned to Kilili beach to hangout. Next week, on March 12, I went to Ada gym to run on the track with my friends. On March 13, Rayanna and I were supposed to meet up with Selima, but she had important errands to do. So, Rayanna and I decided to have lunch and do assignments on campus. Then, the next day we had another swim test for the sailing club. This time we did water treading for an hour. I picked up Destini at NMC after her class and she followed me to pick up Rayanna and Selima. We headed down to Kilili beach. Afterwards, I brought Selima and Rayanna to a presidential caucus since we could not drive down to Debra’s nephew’s birthday party. On March 15, Rayanna, Destini, Marlisa, and I headed down to San Isidro beach park to celebrate the fourth birthday of Selima’s youngest daughter, Ani. That was the last adventure we had. Originally, the challenge that I chose for this assignment was to continue training and improve my kickboxing skills. I wanted to incorporate my kickboxing training in the fitness portion of their challenge, but the training ground is closed due to the virus. For a short period of time, I got to know a few amazing people and explore beautiful sites around the island. Due to the coronavirus, the gym was closed till further notice and training sessions were postponed. Hence, I was not able to completely achieve the main goal I set for this challenge. Fortunately, I have gained a “family” and two beautiful girls that I treat as my own.
