Self-Introduction Video
Reflection
After watching my video, I mostly noticed that I had showed no enthusiasm. Instead, you could tell that I was really shy and self-conscious, which was exactly how I had felt when filming. The one thing I loved about my video is how slow and careful I was to make sure my words would be easily understood. The one thing I mainly need to work on would be my voice and sounding more firm, strong, and confident.
Goals
My goals for this class is to be more confident in my speech skills. I hope to improve in making my speech more engaging and structured. In all, I aim to see improvement in both my informal and formal speech, no matter how little.
End of Class ReflectionAt the closing of the class, I see that I improved only a small amount, but still I improved. For my goal in gaining more confidence, I found that I approached each speech with great confidence in my preparation and content, but was struck down with nerves as I was giving my speech. As for making my speech more engaging, I found that as I did more speeches, I added more capturing images, tried to change my tone and emphasize key ideas, and even tried to put more humor and connect with the audience. Overall, I feel that I grew from the beginning of class and know that I can still improve even more with the new strategies and tips we learned during the semester.

Favorite SpeechMy favorite speech was the demonstration speech. During my speech, I took a risk and immersed myself into the audience. By performing card tricks up close and having volunteers, I got to connect with my audience more. My demonstration speech was also vastly different from any of the others as I was more animated. Although, the most important difference was that I wasn't nervous and didn't stutter on any of my words. I felt that in this speech, I was more excited to share what I could do and surprise the class with how I did it. By far, my demonstration speech was the most engaging speech I gave in the entire semester.
