Self Evaluation
The way I filmed my introduction was in vlog style, because I felt more comfortable holding my phone anyways. As I was editing, I thought it would be unique to have a short intro in the beginning, which is why you'll see a short snippet of me when you first play the video. I also thought that some music will set the mood. Throughout the video, I tried my best to keep eye contact and focus on what I was trying to say. I've got to admit, it was a little difficult speaking because I had tonsillitis when I filmed this video, so my voice was a bit raspy. I also had a hard time trying to remember what I wanted to say in my introduction, so I probably filmed myself about 3 times. I personally think that it was a lot easier recording my speech, because I did not have an audience watching me. I can be quite shy sometimes when presenting, and that is something I'd like to change. I've set a few goals for myself and I've listed them below.
My Goals:
- Quit being shy
- Be able to speak louder
- Make direct eye contact
- Be a confident speaker

Monologue Speech - CO210VR03: Lady Killers (The mother)
“Lady Killers - Monologues by Women Who Kill” - A sample of
‘Monologue 3 (The mother)'
By: Demmer Dewan
‘Monologue 3 (The mother)'
By: Demmer Dewan
- Character: Woman (mother)
- The purpose of this monologue is to illustrate the perspective of a female killer and her reasons for killing. Typically people expect more tough looking men to be suspects of murder, but this monologue represents the female persona of a murderer.
- In this case: Her reason is “to save her children from a lifetime of potential pain” (Dewan, 2016).

Goals that I Have Achieved
At the beginning of the semester, I listed my goals for this class:
-Quit being shy
- Be able to speak louder
- Make direct eye contact
- Be a confident speaker
Now, I can say that I have achieved most of them thanks to the experience that I gained throughout this class!! I feel more confident when speaking in public, I do not feel so shy anymore, I have practiced using eye contact more (even when I go out), and I try to speak in a louder tone.
