I mentioned in my video that my goals for this class were to become more social and to improve my public speaking skills. To add on to that, I primarily want to get over my nervousness when it comes to public speaking, be able to improve my impromptu skills, and be able to use better vocabulary for my speeches.

I think I did okay for my first speech. However, I noticed a few things that I could improve. I noticed that the area that I chose to do my introduction video was a little bit noisy. I can hear the cars passing by in the background and the wind blowing, so next time I should choose a quieter area. My positioning for my video was a bit too up close, I should have instead chosen to stand up and use hand gestures to better improve my speech. I also should have added more content into my speech, I did not want to give out a lot of information about myself because I was afraid of messing up and having to record from scratch over and over (I had to redo this recording about 20 times before I finally felt confident about my tone and delivery of my speech).

My favorite speech throughout the whole course would be the memorization group speech. In particular, our group did a skit on "The Lion King," and I enjoyed working with my partners Eunsu and Yi. At first, I was hesitant to work with others for the memorization speech because I wanted to a particular skit on my own, and I was afraid that it would be more difficult working with others. However, I wanted to challenge myself, so I took the challenge. Not long after, after pairing up with these two, I realized that it was easier to do the memorization speech as a group because we could help each other with pronunciation, presentation and suggest adding gestures and body language into the skit. We also had fun while we were trying to record each scene of the movie. Not only did I not feel the pressure of having to do the speech entirely, but I also had fun trying to memorize the script and going over it with my partners. If there were another assignment that was open to grouping, I would group up again.

At the beginning of this course, I mentioned that my goals for this class were to become more social and improve my public speaking skills. I primarily wanted to get over my nervousness when it came to public speaking, improve my improvisational skills, and use better vocabulary for my speeches. I believe that I did achieve my goals of improving my social skills and public skills, mainly socializing with my classmates and adding better vocabulary to my speeches. However, I feel that I still need to work on my improvisational skills and get over my nervousness when it comes to public speaking. To do this, I will try my best to continue doing speeches or presentations impromptu (if the situation calls for it) in my future classes and try to build my self-confidence for public speaking.
