My Introduction Video |
Reflection on My Self-Introduction Video In my introduction video, I think I did okay overall. I delivered what I wanted to say and introduced myself clearly to the audience. Since I was able to record myself more than once, I am pretty much satisfied with my final video. Yet, I have noticed some habitual and unintentional things I frequently do when I speak, such as using “um” and “uh” as well as rolling and blinking my eyes too much. So, I should improve those areas by focusing on what I need to say and try to avoid doing them, Also, due to my shyness, I easily get nervous in front of many people. So I need to overcome my nervousness and talk with more confidence as well.
Goals for This Class As I mentioned in my video, my goals for this class is to learn different speech skills and hopefully get to use them in my other speeches. In addition, I want to overcome my fear of public speaking and to be able to talk more confidently.

My Favorite Speech
I chose my demonstration speech as my favorite speech because I felt relaxed and enjoyed a lot by doing it. It was pleasant preparing for and demonstrating the speech, especially as a big fan of Disney movie.

Final Reflection
After having about six speeches by myself and seeing a lot of speeches by others, I could learn what I should do to overcome my anxiety and to become a better public speaker in this course. At the beginning, I was truly nervous about even the fact that I have to give many speeches without knowing which speech I would be doing first. Not surprisingly, giving a speech has never been my thing, and it is still difficult after taking this course. But, as of now, I know at least how I should behave and control my feeling when I speak in public. With that said, I become more confident rather discouraging myself with nervousness. I also become aware of what to do specifically to settle my anxiety which includes power posing, practicing, and just trying out different speeches. More importantly, seeing many speeches by other classmates was really helpful to improve my speech skills and also enjoyable. In fact, I truly enjoyed taking this class which I have not expected at the beginning. Overall, it was very useful and enjoyable to take this course, and I will continuously use all the skills I have learned while speaking in the public later on.
