Reflection/Evaluation:
As I was doing this introduction assignment, I was really nervous even if I was seated in front of a camera because I thought, "What if the people watching this get really bored?" I am not used to recording myself as I speak or used to talking about myself either. I would rather have someone ask me questions and I give the answers. Having to prepare a 1-2 minute video about myself made me question, "What do I even talk about?" I just was not comfortable thinking about topics to talk about because I would normally just be asked. This assignment made me do multiple takes, more than you know actually because I stuttered, made so many pauses as I tried to gather my words and thoughts, and I just wanted it to be close to presentable. Maybe you can say I'm a perfectionist. |

Believe in a Positive Mindset
What does it mean to be positive? What do you feel when you are positive? What are the powers of having a positive mindset? These are the questions I had to ask myself at one point but there are so many reasons why I had to be positive. For one, it was just tiring having to be pessimistic all the time. Although being too positive can be bad at times, being too negative is worse. I suggest having a positive mindset but to also be realistic. Now, on to answer the questions I have asked earlier.
What does it mean to be positive? Being positive means you are certain; you have no doubts or fears. For the most part of my life, so far, I have always seen myself as a pessimist. Not too much where I could hit rock bottom but also, not too little. When it came to my motivation, self-esteem, and courage, I would find ways to put myself down by having the mindset that the things I do are never good enough which is why I struggle to share my essays, my thoughts, speak in public, and many more. I was also not one to understand criticism because I always thought of it as a sign of imperfection instead of seeing it as feedback for something I could work on. This year, I felt so tired of putting myself down because it was affecting my grades the year before. I felt like I was the only one aside from a few others who can actually pull myself back up. I had to make myself believe that if I want to achieve something, I had to do something about it. If I think I can do it, then I know I can.
What do you feel when you are positive? Being positive makes me feel confident, motivated, courageous, hopeful, happy, and etcetera. I feel more confident speaking in front of a class than I ever was in my entire life but I know there’s still room for improvement. I feel confident sharing my thoughts because I know everyone has their opinions and ideas. I feel motivated to get my work well thought out and done early so I would not have to procrastinate and just enjoy the rest of my free time. I feel more courageous knowing that I can see the greatness out of the negative thoughts. I feel hopeful that things will always get better in the future and I just feel happy that life may not always be great but I can always find ways around it to at least enjoy.
Lastly, what are the powers of having a positive mindset? To me, having that positive mindset makes me feel like I can do anything. I feel like I have the ability to achieve any goal as long as I do not give up. I know that reaching that goal will allow me to fall countless times but knowing that if I push myself to keep going and believe I can get back up, I will probably be able to achieve almost anything.
Having a positive mindset will probably help me achieve so many things in the future. As long as I try to understand life and understand that things will not always work out the way I want them to, I will find ways to make things work or I may also receive better things. Thinking positively makes me feel like everything is achievable as long as you believe in it and this is why I believe in a positive mindset.
