RECIPE 2 lbs frozen grated cassava (usually sold in 1 lb packages) 2 jars Coconut strings (macapuno strings) 2 large eggs ½ cup of melted butter plus more for greasing pan ½ can of evaporated milk ½ cup of white sugar
INSTRUCTIONS Thoroughly thaw the bag of grated cassava and drain excess water. Drain the syrup from the two jars of coconut strings In a medium bowl, combine the grated cassava, coconut strings, 2 beaten eggs, half a can of evaporated milk, melted butter and half a cup of sugar. Stir until well mixed. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Using additional butter, grease a 9 x 13 glass or metal baking pan Pour batter mix into pan and bake for 45 minutes. Your cake is ready when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Broil the cake for 5 minutes to give it that brown topping. Enjoy your dessert
