My Favorite Speech
My favorite speech would have to this final speech for our class. It is a 3-4 minute monologue from the movie "A Few Good Men," featuring Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise. It is set in a courtroom where Colonel Nathan Jessep (Jack Nicholson) is accused by Attorney Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise) for the murdering of a fellow Marine and Jessep makes a furious declaration.
It is the favorite speech because it was actuallly exciting and fun to memorize this monologue. And because of my military background and my great respect for our women and men in uniform, I can greatly relate to this powerful scene.

Reflection
I enjoyed this class very much because it has given me a lot of opportunities to get up and speak in front of an audience. I have never done impromptu speaking and I am thankful that I have had the chance to and learned how to better prepare myself in case I am called up to speak. There were a lot of nervous moments, wishing not to be called up first, but your turn always came. One thing I regret is not pushing myself harder to do better. This is definitely a lesson learned for my future classes.
Goals
Earlier in the course, I have made some general goals for myself. But throughout the course I made more specific goals to reach for this specific class. To be quite honest, I didn't realize how much goes into a speech. Reading and listening to some of the famous speakers, there is a lot of preparation to be how good they are and it takes lots of practice, practice, practice! The first goal was to be not as nervous to speak and I think I am a little bit more confident, preparation really is key. The second goal was to complete my assignments on time and unfortunately I didn't accomplish this to my fullest potential. Lastly, I actually got to work closely with a few of my classmates and it was fun building that network with fellow classmates. It helps a lot to ask for help and to also help others. That is a life goal of mine no matter where I am at or wherever I go. Thanks to those that have helped me along the way.
Good luck everyone!
